Title editor

Overview

This article explains how to use the Title editor in EFS to efficiently manage and modify titles of pages, questions, and triggers in the questionnaire editor.

Information

The Title Editor feature allows users to export, edit, and import titles for various elements in the questionnaire, streamlining the process of updating multiple titles at once. Even though the titles of pages, questions, and triggers are not displayed in the questionnaire, they do facilitate orientation in the questionnaire editor. Thus, these titles must occasionally be edited, e.g. to adjust them to a project-wide standard.

Export and import

Instead of having to click on each element individually and change it step-by-step, EFS makes it possible to export the titles of pages, questions or triggers, edit them externally and then reimport them.

  • Switch to the Questionnaire editorTitle editor menu.

  • Select the desired element titles, and specify the file type (CSV or Excel) and character set.

  • Confirm by clicking on Export.

  • Save the export file locally.

You can now open the file and enter the desired new text in the “New title” column. In doing so, simply skip over the existing titles that you do not wish to change.

  • After that, you can use the Import tab to reimport the file into EFS.

FAQ

What file types are supported for export and import?

EFS supports both CSV and Excel file formats for exporting and importing titles.

Can I edit only some of the titles?

Yes, you can selectively edit titles by only modifying the desired entries in the "New title" column of the exported file. Titles left unchanged will remain as they were.

Why is specifying the character set important?

Specifying the correct character set ensures that special characters and non-English letters are exported and imported correctly, preventing encoding issues.
