Overview
When exporting survey results, you may see a filename such as recording.mp3 but no link or option to download the actual audio recording from the export. In Tivian/Unipark (Discover XI), Audio Recorder recordings are stored like files from an Upload question type, so they must be downloaded from the project’s uploaded-files area rather than the standard results export.
Solution
What you will see
- The results export lists a recording filename (for example, recording.mp3).
- The export does not include a downloadable audio file (no link/option in the export to download recordings).
Why this happens (expected behavior)
Audio Recorder recordings in Tivian/Unipark (Discover XI) are stored the same way as files submitted through an Upload question type. As a result, audio recordings are accessed via the uploaded-files area and are not packaged as downloadable content in the standard results export (even if the export shows the filename).
Download the recordings
- Open your survey project in Tivian/Unipark.
- Navigate to Statistics → Uploaded Files.
- Locate the Audio Recorder entries and download the recordings from there.
Verify
- Confirm the recordings are visible under Statistics → Uploaded Files.
- Download one recording and verify it opens/plays as expected (for example, an MP3 file).
- If needed, confirm multiple participants’ recordings are available in the same area.
Frequently Asked Questions
- 1. I see “recording.mp3” in my export. Why can’t I download the file from the export?
- Audio Recorder files are stored like Upload-question attachments in Tivian/Unipark, so the standard results export may show the filename but does not provide the actual downloadable audio file.
- 2. Where do I download Audio Recorder recordings from?
- Open the survey project and navigate to Statistics → Uploaded Files, then download the recordings there.
- 3. How do I verify the issue is resolved?
- After going to Statistics → Uploaded Files, confirm the recordings are listed and that you can successfully download and play an audio file (for example, an MP3).
- 4. What if I don’t see any files under Statistics → Uploaded Files?
- Confirm that respondents actually submitted recordings for the Audio Recorder question. If recordings were submitted but still don’t appear in Uploaded Files, collect the survey/project details and contact support for further investigation.
